More than a decade ago, BlueStar hosted its first VARTECH event in Florence, Kentucky–ten years and 25 VARTECH tradeshows later, it has quickly grown to be of the most highly anticipated and widely attended event series in the technology solutions channel.
VARTECH has also expanded to include multiple global events in the VARTECH Educational Series, including Pan-European and Latin America Technology Summits. The BlueStar team was thrilled to host 35 events worldwide in the VARTECH Educational Series, including BlueStar’s What’s Brewing, hosted at craft breweries across North America; the Raise the Bar series featuring solutions and cocktails at local cigar lounges; and the Game On! summer baseball events held at Major League Baseball games. These popular events saw more than 3,000 attendees total in 2012.
BLUESTAR TECHNOLOGY SUMMITS
The BlueStar Technology Summits were designed to further unite vendors and resellers in the spirit of innovation and shared learning experiences. Fostering these relationships among vendors, software solution developers, VARs, and the BlueStar Team was key to growth in 2012. Each Technology Summit consisted of educational presentations, TechZone and networking opportunities.
BlueStar hosted five separate Pan-European Technology Summits in 2012: Paris, Frankfurt, Copenhagen, Madrid and Lisbon. More than 400 VARs and Vendor representatives attended these events throughout the summer of 2012. BlueStar Latin America hosted four individual Technology Summits in key regions, including Venezuela, the Caribbean, Central America, and Mexico. The Latin American Technology Summits were also a success, with 470+ attendees total at the events. Additional Summits are planned for multiple locations again in 2013.
VARTECH UK
With the introduction of its new United Kingdom location in early 2012, BlueStar went on to host its first VARTECH UK in March 2012 at the British National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham. About 100 attendees experienced a full day of educational and training workshops, unparalleled networking on the CodeZone tradeshow floor, and gain actionable business insight to drive incremental new sales in 2012 and beyond.
VARTECH CANADA
VARTECH Canada, hosted in Toronto in June 2012, saw record attendance with nearly 680 total attendees, the most ever for any event produced by BlueStar Canada. The event featured extensive workshops on a variety of vertical markets and technology solutions, as well as the CodeZone tradeshow floor and networking events at the Platinum Club at the Air Canada Centre and Maison Mercer. VARTECH Canada 2013 is scheduled for May 8-10, 2013, in Quebec City.
VTUS/LATAM CARIBBEAN CRUISE
The VARTECH US/LATAM 2012 Bahamas Cruise departed from Miami, Florida, on Friday, October 5th for a weekend of advanced educational workshops, exclusive business intelligence from top manufacturers, and unparalleled networking opportunities. For 2012, VARTECH US/LATAM featured unique new Solutions Showcases, where Value-Added Resellers received hands-on demonstrations and in-depth insight on the latest technology and trends.
Mobile VARTECH 2012 broke a number of records; it was the first event of its kind hosted aboard a chartered Carnival Cruise ship, and exhibitors brought nearly 25 tons of product on 80 skids of freight for the CodeZone show floor, the most amount of product ever shown at a VARTECH event.
BLUESTAR ROADSHOWS
BlueStar also partnered with a number of manufacturers to bring even more exciting events to more than 650 VARs and vendors across North America.
BlueStar's What's Brewing Product Showcase events were held at more than a dozen local and craft breweries across the United States, featuring solutions from APG Cash Drawer, Datalogic, Elo, and Epson. Attendees were able to demonstrate products and the latest technology in a relaxed environment with leading industry experts.
Motorola and other solutions providers hosted the GAME ON! Baseball series at nine different Major League Baseball games, where partners learned about BlueStar's Value-Adds, In-a-Box Solutions, and exciting new products. Each GAME ON! event highlighted a different mobility partner--Star, Datamax-O'Neil, CITIZEN, or Zebra--together with Motorola Solutions.
The Raise the Bar series, sponsored by Bematech, CITIZEN, MMF POS, PartnerTech, RFIDeas and Trimble, was hosted at three different cigar bars across the United States and afforded VAR attendees with additional opportunities to demo new products and technologies, learning more about new solutions from the BlueStar team and our vendor partners.
Coming in 2013, BlueStar (bluestarinc.com) will add the Rhythm & BlueStar Healthcare Roadshow series to this stellar lineup of events, along with other Roadshows planned for additional vertical markets such as Security and Government.
More information about these events will be released in 2013--keep watching for details about the complete lineup of events in the 2013 VARTECH Educational Series!
