ASPIRA of Florida, Inc. and the Broward County Sheriff’s office announce a strategic partnership that establishes the BSO as a center where youth and their families can go to receive these free community services, which will be provided by ASPIRA.

ASPIRA of Florida, Inc. and the Broward County Sheriff’s Office share a passion for bettering the community, and providing its residents with equal access to the tools, knowledge and skills needed to be successful is the foundation upon which this partnership is built.
This collaboration will enhance and enrich the existing services provided by both ASPIRA and the BSO in the Broward community by allowing residents to come to one location to receive support in diverse areas such as career development, college assistance, gang prevention, drug and AIDS awareness, and many other topics.
“This partnership brings together two organizations that are deeply committed to utilizing education as the primary vehicle for the development of the community. Together, ASPIRA and the BSO will focus on reaching out to individuals who have the potential for productive citizenship, but often lack the environmental conditions and the necessary support services to develop to their full potential,” said George Cabrera, President and CEO of ASPIRA of Florida, Inc.
“Keeping a community and its residents safe is not something that law enforcement can do alone,” Broward Sheriff Al Lamberti said. “We need to build trust and gain support and involvement from everyone. There is not one problem that we can solve simply by making arrests, although effective enforcement certainly has its role. I look forward to working with ASPIRA to make Broward County a better place to live, work and visit.”
