Raritan, a leading provider of data center infrastructure management (DCIM) solutions, today announced that two of its DCIM solutions were recognized for their innovation in efficient data center management. Raritan dcTrack® DCIM software received the bronze 2012 Innovation Distinction (id 2012) award, and Raritan's Intelligent Asset Management solution was awarded New Jersey Technology Council’s (NJTC) Innovation Award.
Presented at the 2012 Data Center Innovation Expo (DCIE) in Montreal, id 2012 awards recognize the most noteworthy data center achievements in the past three years. An international jury of data center experts and operators selected dcTrack because of its proven ability "to help data centers reduce energy consumption, maximize space utilization, extend the useful life and facilitate the operation of a data center in a cost-effective manner." Judges also presented id 2012 silver and gold awards to 3M Canada and Énergie Directe Services Commerciaux (Direct Energy), respectively.
According to DCIE,"Data center professionals are constantly looking for new ways to maximize usage of technical, human and financial project resources and to effectively and efficiently facilitate their daily management. The award recognizes and acknowledges the contribution of visionaries, such as Raritan, whose work is opening new paths to a bright future." Raritan demonstrated the DCIM solutions with partner InfraDesigns at the Montreal event.
dcTrack helps data centers better visualize infrastructure resources and their interrelationships – including facilities, network and IT resources. The DCIM software automates the provisioning and MAC (moves, adds, and changes) processes using built-in intelligent capacity search tools that find the intersection of the optimal space, power and network resources. dcTrack’s intelligent and automated tools were reported by key customers to greatly reduce manual effort, resulting in 50 percent savings and a quick ROI.
Raritan's electronic-based Asset Management solution received a NJTC Innovation award. According to NJTC,"Our goal is to honor companies that have developed exceptional new products and services in the last two years." Judges selected Raritan to present the first-of-its-kind Asset Management solution at NJTC’s Innovation event in Bridgewater, NJ.
Raritan's Intelligent Asset Management solution increases the implementation accuracy of physical moves, adds, and changes; increases the accuracy of associated asset management and DCIM databases; reduces human errors; and, ultimately reduces costs. By automatically capturing each activity performed at the rack when it happens, the electronic asset tracking solution insures that a data center's change policy is followed –– and that inventory records are always accurate –– eliminating the days of outdated and inaccurate spreadsheets and hours searching among racks for a target server. For more value the Intelligent Asset Management solution integrates seamlessly with dcTrack DCIM software.
"Data centers, the engine powering businesses everywhere, have grown in size, density and complexity; as a result, companies are looking for better ways to manage their data center infrastructures and resources. dcTrack and Intelligent Asset Management help alleviate major data center pain points and improve operating and energy efficiencies," said Khaled Nassoura, General Manager of Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) Solutions at Raritan. "The industry recognition our DCIM software and hardware solutions have received acknowledges the innovation and excellent pioneering work being done at Raritan."
