Deemed “the brand for the million dollar man,” Christopher Brian is a cross between Ralph Lauren and Dolce and Gabbana, luxury street wear with a high fashion feel. While it is predominantly a men’s line, it does feature some women’s pieces as well. In the fall of 2008, Christopher Brian will debut its line of accessories including a backpack, a carrying bag, a travel bag, two boots for women, a heel for women, and a tennis shoe for men. “We only use exclusive fabrics,” Stokes explains. “The highest quality wool, cashmere, and lamb skin leather.”
It is this attention to detail and the finer things that sets Christopher Brian apart from other lines, street wear and otherwise. “I feel like this line will be the most innovative street wear line because it is starting with a broader fashion base,” Stokes makes clear. “It’s not just urban. It’s a line for everyone.”
If Stokes’ career is any indicator, he certainly seems to know what appeals to the public. Seventeen years ago, as a young, self-educated man with a creative eye, he began to manage musical acts. Among them were IMX (also known as Immature), Brandy, and Omarion. Soon, he branched into directing music videos, then film, then writing his own films, and now the fashion world. “I have always had an eye for fashion,” Stokes says.
He more than proves that he has an eye for fashion with his new line. Perhaps the most impressive and exciting aspect of the collection, though, is its timelessness. “The pieces that will be presented to the public are classic,” Stokes declares. “You will be able to wear them for years and years. It’s a street line with a traditional edge and has longevity.”
Stokes’ main focus right now is fashion, but that doesn’t mean he has forgotten his other talents. Somebody Help Me, a film written and directed by Stokes and starring Marques Houston and Omarion Grandberry, will be in theaters March 16, 2007. And look out for Christopher Brian, available in retail stores nationwide in the fall of 2007.
