The pharmaceutical company purchased eFiler to automatically extract data from documents. CVISION’s eFiler solution creates a separator page for the document that is being scanned and affixes it to the top of the desired document. The eFiler solution utilizes a cover sheet recognition module to scan the TIFF image for the first separator page. Once this occurs, it performs OCR to retrieve the ID number from that page and discards the cover page. It then extracts each individual page until it finds the next separator page. The eFiler will then convert the TIFF to a text searchable and compressed PDF file. Lastly, the PDF file is imported to the client’s records management system.

This new solution will reduce the costs and time associated with handling image documents. In addition to automated extraction resulting from CVISION’s industry leading software, other benefits include the ability for the end users and e-discovery team members to easily search not only metadata but document content as well.
