This October, SpectiCast Entertainment, in association with PassmoreLab, will distribute George Romero’s 1968 horror classic NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD – restored, colorized, and in 3D. The distribution will fall just in time for Halloween, with the film screening for ONE WEEK ONLY from October 24 through October 31, 2012 in theatres across North America.
George Romero’s film sent shockwaves through America when it premiered in 1968, with its gritty depiction of horrific, reanimated corpses terrorizing seven strangers in rural Pennsylvania. Shot on a shoestring budget using amateur actors as both the leads and the zombie extras, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD defined the zombie movie genre for filmmakers, surviving today, 44 years after its premiere, as one of the golden standards for horror cinema.
PassmoreLab has given the film a technical makeover and brought it into the 21st century with meticulous restoration, colorization, and updating the film for 3D viewing.
