The collection reveals a characteristic of circular Hellenistic motifs of gold, dramatic puffy sleeves and a certain pre-disposition to a gothic appeal, inviting viewers to conjure up patterns and bold colors.
The show opened with flesh colored fitted lacey embroidered skirts, slowly transgressing into to short sartorial bubble gum pink dresses, draped in white embroidered lace. The pieces were charming, practical and playful. The skirts slowly progressed into brighter colors such as pinks, purples, blues and oranges, with Byzantine patterns and jewels. They gained more character by the clever blend of these jewels and circular motifs of orange/gold and blue/gold. The infusion of plainness, laces and Byzantine inspired circular motifs and crosses was effortlessly done. The pairing of different material so as to compartmentalize different aspects of the dress was very modern and something that can find a practical-yet fashionable purpose off the runway.

The runway show was a standing room only, attended by a multitude of spectators, buyers and special invited fashion professionals who were just as curious to see the new hand work of Soojin-Lee’s international collection debut. On September 19 through the 21st, 2012 Soojin-Lee will be one of the designers among other local and international brands to exhibit at ENK’s Coterie showcase in New York during Market Week, a three-day trade exhibition where buyers such as boutique and department stores meet with designers to touch, feel and place orders into stores their stores.
