Your Sister’s Canary is proud to announce the release of their debut album – Good and Alone – now available for streaming and download via iTunes, Spotify and BandCamp.
For five days, Rob Natale (guitar/vocals), Josh Edsall (bass/vocals) and Jordan Chiolis (drums/vocals) went into hiding near Woodstock, NY at a miraculous place called Dreamland Recording Studios (Dr. Dog, Fleet Foxes, Beach House). During those five days (and enough hours to rival three work-weeks) the Brooklyn-based trio pieced together a ten-song album of “innovative blues-influenced indie rock,” says Ridgewood Patch, including a title track that nearly went unrecorded. In five days the group completed their debut album – a fresh blend of boisterous Beach Boys pop-harmony, soulful Marvin Gaye rhythmic intricacies and rawhide Led Zeppelin blues-rock power.
“Figuring out how to capture something on record that was as energetic as our live performances was challenging,” says the group. “It forced us to go with our gut – and we’ve come to love the imperfections.”
Your Sister’s Canary has only begun making a name for themselves with performances at New York City venues like Mercury Lounge, Knitting Factory, Pianos, The Bitter End, Spike Hill and Rockwood Music Hall, with upcoming shows at Cameo Gallery, The Rock Shop and Cake Shop in September and October.
