In another very “non-traditional” style, EastLake has 2 buildings and the Pastor literally runs between worship services as one ends and the next begins on Sunday mornings. One of the buildings, a 45,000 square office building, used to be a Kaiser Permanente Office before EastLake Church bought the property. As a result, the church now hosts thousands in a black and silver glass office building that says everything but “traditional church”.
Getting its start in October 1991, EastLake Church began in a home with just three families and in 1993, EastLake Church had its very first public service when they opened their doors as a set-up/tear-down church at the EastLake High School Performing Arts Center. During the next 4 years, the church grew from just a few families to around 100 adults and children – since then, things have been meteoric.
One of the elements of EastLake Church’s styles is that the church is widely recognized in the community for its Children’s programs. EastLake has more that 80,000 square feet of total facility space, and has more than 85% of the space dedicated to children’s program activities which draw more than 1000 kids per weekend.
