Henryk Skwarczynski wrote in his introduction to Manuel Rosa's Polish book "KOLUMB. Historia Nieznana" (COLUMBUS. Unknown History) published May 2012, that in Central Park, New York, there are monuments to King Jogaila and to his grandson Christopher Columbus but the world is unaware of their family ties. Can this be true?

Was Christopher Columbus a descendant of Lithuanian royalty?
On September 7, the Balzekas Museum in Chicago will host a lecture and discussion with Columbus authors Manuel Rosa and Eric Steele who will expound on their research into the centuries-old questions of Columbus's true identity. Why did Columbus feel a need to hide who his parents were? Was it really because Columbus was a Jew? Was he a Portuguese spy infiltrated in the court of Spain?
These questions and their answers lead us directly to Duke University in North Carolina where, after more than twenty years of investigations, author Manuel Rosa has come up with the most stunning findings about Columbus's secret identity.

"The missing link in all of the histories of Christopher Columbus was his Portuguese life," wrote Mr. Rosa,"by downplaying Columbus's Portuguese life and his noble elite Portuguese wife as insignificant, the major part of Columbus's identity was erased and rewritten."

For 500 years the true identity of Columbus has remained a mystery because the discoverer wished it to be so. Columbus's son, Don Fernando Colon, wrote that the discoverer of America wanted "his name and both his motherland and origins to remain less certain and less known." Don Fernando Colon did not reveal half of the Columbus Mystery although the half that he did reveal was enough for historians to write a mismatched history that turns out to be a fable, claims the author whose latest bestselling book has been getting rave reviews in Poland.

After two decades investigating the contradicting facts pertaining to the man credited with the discovery of America, the results of his research were published in four foreign language books and they are flabbergasting!
Following thorough scientific methods to reach his conclusions, Mr. Rosa even participated in the DNA studies of Columbus's bones at the University of Granada. As the first historian to present new documents that for 500 years had been overlooked in Portugal and all over the world, exposing some documents long accepted as genuine to be nothing more than forgeries and presenting in detail the secret history of discovery of the New World by the Portuguese Templars decades before Columbus, Rosa is turning the known Christopher Columbus taradiddle upside-down!

The turning point for publicizing these new findings was an article published on November 28, 2010 in the British "Daily Telegraph" (the same which reported the discovery of Troy by Heinrich Schliemann!) where its correspondent Fiona Govan reported from Madrid about Manuel Rosa's book "Colon: La Historia Nunca Contada," (Columbus: The Untold Story, ) published in Spain in 2010.

The news quickly spread all over the globe. "Mamma Mia!" exclaimed New York Daily News Staff Writers Corky Siemaszko and Christine Boyle,"New research suggests the man credited with discovering America was actually the son of exiled Polish King (from the Lithuanian Jagiellonian dynasty) Vladislau III - and not the son of a humble craftsman from Genoa... the Genoese wool-weaver story turned out to be a complete fable".
Soon after the information was repeated by Moscow TV, WNPR, BBC Radio and many other media including the cover of Newsweek, Poland.

The author of these sensational findings has been invited to talk about his research at numerous Portuguese, US and Spanish universities and also lectured at the Portuguese Academy of History, on May 16, 2012. The Portuguese Academy of History was full to capacity with Professors, Academics and members of the scientific community who went on to describe the history--changing research presented as "a serious look at the truth, well-substantiated and worthy of praise".

Soon after Mr. Rosa's presentation, the President of the Portuguese Academy of History, Professor Maria Manuela Mendonça, declared in an interview on May 19 to the Diario do Alentejo newspaper, that, Columbus was Portuguese-born noble and could never have been a peasant from Italy or anywhere else. Peasants did not marry nobility as Columbus did already in 1479: fifteen years before becoming famous.

In order to better understand Columbus's Lithuanian connections, the Balzekas Museum of Lithuanian Culture in Chicago (balzekasmuseum.org) will host a lecture on September 7, 2012, at 7:00 pm, titled: "The Secret Identity of Columbus: Peasant to Viceroy in 33 days," where Manuel Rosa and Eric Steele, co-author of "The Columbus Mystery Revealed" will be the featured speakers. Author Henryk Skwarczynski will also be present.
