Dowley Security Systems, Inc., the leading provider of turnkey technology integration and electronic security systems, announced today it has been awarded a U.S. Department of State (DoS) security systems installation contract through a Pernix-Serka Joint Venture at the Baghdad Diplomatic Support Center (BDSC), formerly known as Sather Air Base, in Baghdad, Iraq.
The year-long multi-million dollar contract assigns Dowley full design, deployment, and installation responsibilities for the DoS security platform. Dowley will provide an integrated security platform that includes video surveillance cameras, intercom, perimeter security, intrusion detection, and access control systems, X-ray screening devices, tear gas firing consoles, door controllers, and fiber optic networking infrastructure for the complete support center.
This is second project Dowley has partnered with Pernix-Serka, with both projects in Baghdad, Iraq and only five miles apart. The DoS turned to Pernix-Serka “for being uniquely experienced and positioned to pick-up and prosecute the continued performance at the Sather site in minimum time,” after the DOS had previously awarded the contract to a competitor whom failed to complete improvements within the contract terms.
