Nokia today announced that its Location & Commerce business has collaborated with Esri to advance the location intelligence capabilities of Esri’s Business Analyst and Community Analyst products by providing high-quality NAVTEQ Maps. With the current economic environment, decision makers are held at a higher expectation than ever before. Governments, community planning organizations and business industries such as real estate, retail and sales, can gain more transparency to analyze customer or constituent behaviors, activities and processes by using the power of location data.
In order to gain a competitive advantage in today’s economy, it is critical that businesses and communities are equipped with the highest level of location intelligence to stay abreast of the market. Digital map data can help businesses predict the success of a particular retail location, or analyze the sales, competition, and market penetration through a geographically targeted marketing campaign. It can also aid in geographically prioritizing community projects, allocate resources for the greatest impact, and understand the types of people impacted by a policy decision.
“Almost all business and organization decisions have criteria driven by location, for example, the most desirable area to open a grocery store based on local business intelligence information,” said Roy Kolstad, vice president, Enterprise Americas, Location & Commerce, Nokia. “We are committed to providing answers to the “where” questions that impact bottom-line decision making for today and that provide long-term sustainability. Nokia and Esri continue our deep strategic collaboration on global research and development, sales, and marketing activities."
NAVTEQ Maps have always provided the superior quality to support Esri in fulfilling the needs of the GIS industry. Esri has selected for the first time NAVTEQ Maps in Esri Business Analyst and Community Analyst for the United States. Esri Business Analyst combines demographic and business data, detailed maps, and advanced spatial analytics with a user’s data to help answer key questions such as,“What location will be the most successful for my retail store?”. Esri Community Analyst provides a geographical perspective on key decisions that impact the public, such as where to best allocate resources for greatest community impact and how to plan better for the future.
"Our goal is to provide a comprehensive worldwide GIS database with high-quality and ready-to-use basemaps," says Christophe Charpentier, content product manager, Esri. "The selection of NAVTEQ Maps reflects our users' need for the most accurate map data, as well as Esri's commitment to help businesses enhance and optimize processes through location analytics."
NAVTEQ Maps are also available in other Esri Business Analyst products: Business Analyst Server, Business Analyst Online for the U.S. and Business Analyst Desktop for the U.S.
