“We’ve waited a long time to produce a concert of this caliber showcasing nationally known artists here at the winery. Ronnie Laws and friends will provide an intimate, high-energy show that will thoroughly entertain our guests, complementing our commitment to offering the ‘Perfect Wine Experience, ’” commented Joel Reese, entertainment director at Leoness Cellars.
Southern California’s Wine Country has been attracting world-class music artists to area vineyards for many years and Leoness Cellars is honored to host Ronnie Laws and friends for their very first Temecula performance.
One of the original members of Earth, Wind and Fire and often listed on Billboard's contemporary jazz chart, Ronnie Laws currently tours the world performing his romantic blend of rhythm & blues and jazz originals and favorites.
In 1976, Ronnie launched a solo career with Blue Note Records making immediate impact on the UK jazz funk scene with his debut album 'Pressure Sensitive', including the classic instrumental 'Always There' (later recorded by numerous other artists including Willie Bobo, Side Effect, Jeff Lorber, Wood Brass & Steel, Incognito and the James Taylor Quartet).
Today Ronnie Laws remains one of the most popular jazz artists in the world.
Temecula Valley residents may recognize Ronnie’s special guest, Phillip Ingram’s voice from smooth jazz radio station, KMYT’s theme song, as well as Shrek, My Best Friend’s Wedding and the Lion King movie soundtracks.
Phillip was a member of the platinum selling R&B/funk band, Switch that found fame recording for the Gordy label in the late 1970s, releasing hit songs such as "There'll Never Be," "I Call Your Name" and "The Best Beat in Town."
Phillip Ingram also sings backup for artists such as Barbara Streisand and Sheena Easton in the studio and on the road.
Leoness Cellars (leonesscellars.com) is a family farming based winery dedicated to growing and producing artisan wines that best represent Temecula Valley's Mediterranean climate, while offering warm hospitality, fresh fare, wine education and entertainment.
