The European Commission’s Office for European Community Research and Development Services (CORDIS) designated its first USA based Telemedicine expert Jacques von Speyer, CEO and Chairman of US Tele-Medicine.
“Mr. von Speyer’s’ superior knowledge and approach to universal healthcare through innovation and technology, combined with his pragmatic approach to telemedicine utilization in Europe, makes him an excellent partner to all the health industry of Europe and our research councils.” Said Lucy Jarrow, spokesperson of the European Commissioners Public Health and EU Innovation.
Von Speyer is the first American member qualified to collaborate and partner on FP7 telemedicine projects in Europe.
In addition, the European Commission’s HEALTH-NCP-NET operated by Instituto Salud Carolos III in Madrid, designated US Tele-Medicine as a registered partner in all FP7 telemedicine projects; making it only the 3rd US entity so recognized by the Institute.
“It is indeed an honor to be selected by the commissioners and I believe that Europe’s dedication to telehealth will bring widespread access to those underserved populations and positively impact efforts at disease management for years to come,” said von Speyer.
US Tele-Medicine is based in Palm Desert California and is a leading purveyor of telemedicine platforms to self-funded corporate USA and State Governments. In the USA each state operates its own healthcare system for employees, their families and retirees.
EU Commissioners, EU Innovation Union and CORDIS understand that with an ageing population and strong competitive pressures from globalization, Europe' s future economic growth and jobs will increasingly have to come from innovation in health products, telehealth services and business models. This is why health innovation has been placed at the heart of the Europe 2020 strategy. With over thirty action points, the Innovation Union aims to improve conditions and access for research and innovation in Europe, to ensure that innovative ideas can be turned into health products and services that create sustain healthy populations.
