ICAD Group, in partnership with the University of Iowa Alumni Association (UIAA), is hosting a networking event for alumni and the business community on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, from 5 pm. to 7 pm. at Art Building West. The event is open to the public and registration is required. To register, visit icadgroup.com and click the event button.
Rod Lehnertz, director of planning, design and construction at the University of Iowa, will discuss the ramifications of the 2008 flood and detail current and future university expansion projects. Following this program, a networking reception will be held in the cantilevered wing of Art Building West. The new deans for the College of Engineering and the Tippie College of Business are scheduled to attend the networking reception.
“Part of our ongoing workforce development strategy is to immerse business leaders and workforce in the local community,” said DaLayne Williamson, Workforce Business Services Director at ICAD Group. “This event provides the unique opportunity to showcase what’s happening right here in Iowa’s Creative Corridor and network with alumni and university leadership.”
ICAD Group (iowacityareadevelopment.com) started this partnership in 2009 to connect area workforce and alumni with the community. Past events have been themed to local industry clusters, such as renewable energy, gaming and computer simulation, and bio technology, as well as innovation and entrepreneurial development. ICAD Group also works with the National I-Club and UIAA to reach alumni who have moved away, but are still interested in the region.
“We look forward to hosting more events like this and continuing to engage alumni through our PickYourPace.com website,” added Williamson. “We continue to work with our partners to maintain an available, affordable and capability workforce for our clients and our region.”
