Twin Cities Community Hospital has announced the retirement of Chief Executive Officer Rick Lyons, effective July 6, 2012.
“Rick Lyons has been a driving force behind the mounting successes and notable developments that Twin Cities has seen in recent years,” said Jeff Koury, senior vice president of operations for Tenet’s California region. “His leadership and vision have helped shape the hospital into the award-winning and community-trusted medical establishment that it is today.”
During Lyons’s tenure, Twin Cities Community Hospital expanded from 84 to 122 beds and expanded its campus, including the construction of a new patient tower that provided renovated facilities for the intensive care unit, emergency room and obstetrics units. Lyons and his leadership team also oversaw the addition of more than 70 physicians to the medical staff, the acquisition of Templeton Imaging and the establishment of the Medical Arts Center. Under his leadership, the hospital received several quality designations and awards, including winning Tenet’s prestigious Circle of Excellence award four times.
Lyons has volunteered many hours to community service as a board member at CenCal, the County’s Medi-Cal managed care insurance plan; Paso Robles Chamber of Commerce; San Luis Obispo YMCA; the P-16 Council for San Luis Obispo School District Advisory Group and the Paso Robles School District Community Advisory Council.
After retiring in July, Lyons will remain in Templeton with his family.
The hospital will conduct an extensive search to identify a chief executive officer with a solid background in operations and strategy development to lead the hospital to continued success.
