Departing tomorrow STC is leading a trade mission to Germany, the Netherlands and Norway, assisting companies from the State of Victoria in Australia that are developing innovative small enabling technologies to explore new business relationships and opportunities.
STC will organize business-to-business introductions, networking opportunities and site-visits in Europe, anchoring the trade mission around the 17th Annual Commercialization of Micro- and Nanotechnology Systems (COMS) conference, to be held in Tonsberg, Norway in June 2012. This trade mission is supported by the Department of Business and Innovation, Victorian State Government.
“This trade mission offers the unique opportunity of establishing valuable networks into Europe, of delegates sharing experiences and knowledge along the way and gaining a first-hand understanding of how similar businesses are succeeding in their chosen markets. Underpinning this initiative are visits to groups and clusters that are outstanding examples of industry, research and government working together to create new wealth.” said Clive Davenport, the Delegation Head.
Among the stops in the trade mission, delegates will visit MicroTEC Southwest cluster in Southern Germany, KennisPark in the Netherlands, and NorFab in Norway and attend networking events in Frankfurt, Germany. Delegates will also engage in private meetings with a number of European companies, including KIT, IMS-Chips, IMTEK, HSG-IMIT, Biofluidix, MESA+ and more. Delegates will have a presence in the Victorian Pavilion at COMS.
“This is an exciting and important trade mission that really highlights the confidence for growth among innovative, motivated and enterprising small businesses here in Victoria. Showcasing their businesses and securing opportunities with an impressive line-up of German, Dutch and Norwegian companies really accentuates our world-class capabilities” said Buzz Palmer, STC’s General Manager.
STC has a history of helping companies make connections that drive follow-on discussions and translating these early discussions into projects. The Australian companies participating in this trade mission include: Arrayware, the Australian Synchrotron, Bullseye Technology, Capstone Partners, Circa, Cytentia, Eikonic, Genera Biosystems, Horizon21, IntelliMedical Technology, MiniFAB, OptoTech, Qubist, and STC.
