NEW for Broadcast Asia 2012: Vector MultiPlay™ – Powerful multichannel master control, automation and playout
Vector MultiPlay™ is Vector 3’s sophisticated IT-based solution for multichannel and large-scale hub broadcasting. MultiPlay combines the flexible benefits of IT-based technology with the on-air reliability broadcast engineers demand, and is scalable channel-by-channel to any size of operation.
For BA 2012, MultiPlay’s flexible architecture is augmented with two new modules that provide new file-based workflow tools and remote access to full information about master control room status:
MultiPlay MediaManager automates file copying and transfer operations to ensure the integrity and readiness of all media files required by the playlist. Executing copies and transfers based on the information in the playlist, MediaManager also performs compliance checking to test for errors and guarantee that all linked video, audio, closed captions and other files are in place. With MediaManager’s automated processes, broadcasters can achieve a more streamlined and efficient workflow from archive to playout and back, with the assurance that all the content is ready for transmission.
MultiPlay WebServer provides real-time information on all MultiPlay’s playout and file-based workflow operations, allowing authorized personnel in the station or outside it to see instantly the status of all activities. A monitoring tool that can be seen from smartphones, notebooks or desk-based PCs, WebServer is accessible by wi-fi within the control room, and remotely through the net. MultiPlay WebServer’s flexible interface is easily reconfigured to adapt to any broadcaster’s custom workflow.
The full range of Vector MultiPlay modules includes:
• MultiPlay MCR - 24/7 channel automation with fault-tolerant operation;
• MultiPlay VServer - IT-based video server with world-class reliability;
• MultiPlay Ingest - State of the art multichannel ingest with extensive automation;
• MultiPlay News - Studio automation control for live broadcasting.
Additional modules for template creation, playlist editing, distributed editing by journalists, and other workflow functionalities.
At BA 2012, Vector 3 will be demonstrating MultiPlay in a multichannel master control room operation with full redundancy and automated channel failover.
