St. Louis Entrepreneur and former boxing manager Steve Conley is kicking off his first “formal” Youth Entrepreneur teleseminar on December 4. Conley and his Network of seasoned youth education specialists, community activists, spiritual leaders, and other supporters have amassed over $25,000 in services and support to bring this class free-of-charge to 10 lucky scholarship recipients.
The teleseminar is conducted over 9 weeks via telephone and online, and covers self-assessments, leadership and business management skills, business plans, understanding web-based business, marketing strategies, communications, and economic reciprocity. At the end of the 9-week program, each student who successfully completes the course will have an e-commerce enabled online presence with their business domain, free hosting for 2 years, and will have a working business plan. The We Care staff and a host of stellar mentors will continue to support their efforts for years to come.
“We’re giving everybody a break over the holiday period, but aim to finish up in time to showcase our scholars during Entrepreneur Week USA in late February 2007,” says Conley, President and CEO of We Care Worldwide.
“It’s about time adults stop complaining about our teens and start doing something to change things. Parents and other responsible family and community people have to think about whether to splurge on Play Station 3, expensive sneakers and electronic gear, or really invest in changing the mindset of today’s children. And we have to start training our children to do business in a networked way – with people who do business with us in a respectful way. That’s what we’re doing here,” according to Conley.
Conley and his team point to the success of others they have taught and mentored privately. One, a barely twenty-something entrepreneur musician-rapper Kameil Madison (Bounce to this), is a veteran of Internet-based business. A St. Louis woman who was homeless as a teen now owns a thriving local cleaning service that employs others. St. Louis television and radio personality – and ex-NFL sports figure – Demetrious Johnson of Sportswave television and radio show can’t say enough about Conley’s efforts, and frequently has him on his TV show. Pastors across the country are including Conley’s model in their programs.
We Care Worldwide, Inc. (wecareworldwide.com) is an entrepreneurial-minded, multifaceted organization dedicated to doing well, while doing good in the communities it serves. Its primary focus is website design and management and sponsorship acquisition, with over forty years of combined experience in these endeavors.
