The Champions for Children benefit is one of several annual events that the organization coordinates to raise funds and create awareness. According to their website, Champions for Children (formerly the Child Abuse Council) has been helping children and strengthening families through prevention, education and treatment programs since 1977. The organization is guided by a voluntary board with diverse professional and cultural backgrounds and, over the years, this board, members of the organization and volunteers have helped thousands of families throughout Hillsborough County by providing education, prevention and treatment programs. Through these programs, parents receive hands-on training, support and the information needed to face the many challenges and pleasures of raising healthy, happy and well-adjusted children. Champions For Children is an accredited agency that operates in accordance with nationally defined best practice standards and consistently strives to deliver superior services to children and families.
The event at Fleming’s was called,“Martinis & More,” and Champions For Children provided complimentary hors d’oeuvres while its members and volunteers had the chance to socialize and network. The organization also announced its new auxiliary.
