Corpro is a member of international oilfield services organization Reservoir Group. Its announcement on its success on completing its first ever large bore coring project in Columbia, South America was witnessed by Boyd Clark Resource Capital Solutions.
Corpro used the innovative QuickCore technology with the help of Canadian-based Quest Coring to extract core samples with a depth of 4,600ft. To target depth of the first well, it is followed by additional 50ft of drilling.
In the first well, 93 percent rate of recovery of core samples were cut from the total of 360ft samples. It was completed in a total of 44 hours with 3.7 hour average to cut and recover a 30ft length of core.
In the second well, within a period of 44 hours, Boyd Clark Resource Capital Solutions witnessed further cutting of 11 cores with a total of 324ft.
Because of this success, clients are now showing interest in procuring an additional QuickCore wireline coring system for its second rig. The QuickCore system is considered the largest in the industry which delivers 3.5” diameter core. The system facilitates more cost-effective performance and has the ability of coring by up to 75 percent in lesser time of trip.
