As members of the Watch List, these bands will be the subject of feature stories and their fans will be encouraged to show their dedication and support by participating in our video contest. Bands on the Watch List will be first in line to become future winners of Ethan's’ Seal of Approval. That designation will earn them a full month of intensive daily coverage plus the ability to partner with our Signature Designers to create an exclusive licensed t-shirt that will earn them revenue.
Here are the bands Ethan is watching:
Altar of Plagues (The sound of modern collapse and introspection; extremely dark sound.)
Aosoth (Downtuned black metal with no fear of exploring sludgy tempos.)

Glorior Belli (Blues ridden black metal with a strong feeling of something akin to an invocation.)
Svarttjern (Strong use of two guitars, maintaining relevance to the old and new sounds of Black Metal.)
Svart Crown (Dirty, Raw, Aggressive, Dissonant, Guttural, a monolithic sound difficult to ignore.)
Obolus (Cold sounding Black Metal featuring plenty of great atmosphere through relentless drumming, guitars, and great vocals.)
Ethan brings his years of listening experience and passion for finding new music in addition to his experience as a drummer in various Black Metal and Death Metal bands in northern Virginia to his new role as a Great New Metal Authority. He's eager to show you some of the best Black Metal has to offer, be it on the atmospheric end, or the raw lo-fi.
Ethan also looks forward to watch video submissions from fans of his watch list bands. Fans should upload short videos they've made about why the whole world should know about the watch list band to YouTube and post them to Ethan's wall.
