MarketTools, Inc., the leading provider of software and services for market research and enterprise feedback management (EFM), today announced that Joseph Retzer, Vice President, Advanced Analytics at MarketTools, will lead a tutorial titled,“Advances in Market Segmentation Analysis,” at the 2012 Sawtooth Software Conference today. Retzer’s presentation will highlight his expertise in using leading-edge analytic techniques to inform strategic business decisions, and will incorporate learnings from segmentation studies conducted at MarketTools.

Tutorial Title: “Advances in Market Segmentation Analysis”
Description: The focus of this tutorial will be on new unsupervised learning (Cluster Analysis) algorithms and models. It will begin with a short review of some well-known methods including K-means, PAM (Partitioning Around Medoids), Finite Mixture Modeling, and Clustering Objects on Subsets of Attributes (COSA), with particular attention to the Cluster Ensemble approach. Supervised learning techniques (e.g. CART) will also be discussed, with emphasis on the relatively new and highly regarded Random Forest algorithm, in addition to a review of Semi-Supervised Learning (SSL) algorithms, which combine information from both supervised and unsupervised learning.
This marks the third time Retzer has been invited to present at the esteemed Sawtooth Conference, renowned in the marketing research industry for its practitioner-oriented focus and depth in the fields of conjoint analysis, segmentation, and data collection/analysis. The 2012 Sawtooth Software Conference will be held on March 21-23, 2012 in Orlando, FL, at Disney's BoardWalk Inn, with tutorials and workshops held March 19-20 at the same venue.
