MTV recently filmed T2 Design presenting two new lines of product inventions on the new reality TV series "Adventures In Hollyhood," executive produced by Ashton Kutcher. T2 Design, an invention prototyping company based in Santa Monica, California, had its first experience in reality television, on Simon Cowell's groundbreaking hit TV series "American Inventor."
"Reality television seems to have increased the public's awareness and enthusiasm in inventing. The U.S. patent and Canadian patent offices have reported increased patent filings since the airing of ABC's "American Inventor," said Paul Berman, president of T2 Design Corporation.
Berman explained, "On 'American Inventor' we were hired to take two inventors' ideas to the next level and build working prototypes to compete for the million dollar prize. With the MTV reality TV series, we were brought in to present new inventions that could become product signature lines." One of the inventions that T2 Design presented was a cooking product that electronically incorporates music.
Linda Shayne, a filmmaker also featured on MTV's "Adventures In Hollyhood" noted, "Television is always reinventing itself and it's terrific that reality TV is promoting the process of inventing through entertaining formats and million dollar competitions."
MTV and ABC will not be the only networks featuring inventions in 2007. PBS will be airing "Everyday Edisons" and the History Channel will air "Modern Marvel Invent Now Challenge." Discovery Canada will launch "Patent Bending" and the CBC will air "Dragons' Den."
T2 Design helps inventors create products from their invention ideas. For more than fifteen years, T2 Design has successfully worked with inventors designing products, building prototypes, patent searching and facilitating manufacturing.
