Legendary designer Julien MacDonald, rock Gods Coldplay, Olympics 2012 chairman Seb Coe and former England rugby captain, Will Carling, have all generously donated exclusive goodies to be sold on eBay through Auctioning4u-eBay Drop Off Shop and Online Auction Service Provider, with the proceeds going to cancer charity Cancer Active.
Following on from their successful Cancer Prevention Conference in London 2005, the charity are taking a 3 Dimensional approach and launching CANCER PREVENTION FORTNIGHT on the 13th November this year. They are encouraging everyone to become involved in understanding how much they can do to prevent themselves, and their loved ones, from developing cancer.
Auctioning4u’s Charity Sales Director, Isabella Pawlowski, says: ‘A lot of the time celebrity auctions only reach a small number of people. By using the power of eBay we can appeal to a worldwide audience of 203 million and raise some much needed money and awareness for Cancer Active.’
All the auctions are due to start on 14th November and will run for 10 days. For live links to the auctions keep checking eBay Online Charity Auctions for updates.
The Online Auctions!!
Julien MacDonald Dress
Taken from the designer’s AW 06 collection, the gown is handcrafted from black stretch satin with an embroidered strap and is worth £4,000! If all that wasn’t enough, Julien has even offered to tailor the dress according to the winning bidder’s measurements. The online auction is due to start on the 14th of November and will run for ten days – remember to save the date in your diaries!
Coldplay signed merchandise
These talented musicians are well known for their charity work and have donated excellent goodies for Cancer Active including a signed T-shirt that Chris Martin wore on the Rush of Blood tour. Again the online auction starts on the 14th of November and will run for ten days.
Seb Coe Signed T shirt
The former Olympic champion and chairman of the Olympics 2012 has donated the T-shirt he wore in the Sports Relief mile run he completed alongside Tony Blair earlier in the year. Online Auction runs from 14th November for ten days
Will Carling Signed England Shirt
Former England rugby captain Will Carling has donated a signed England shirt to benefit Cancer Active. And you guessed it the online auctions run from 14th November for ten days!
While the auctions are online Cancer Active will also be hosting a ‘3D Party’ at ‘24’ Nightclub (formerly Attica) at 24 Kingly Street, Soho on Thursday 16th November, starting at 7.30 p.m. The evening promises to be full of fun and glamour in this new venue, which is already a popular addition to the London party scene. A drinks reception
(canape menu designed by Gillian McKeith of ‘You Are What You Eat’) will be followed by a short speech by one of
the charity founders, Chris Woollams, explaining more about the work of the charity, and various steps that people can take in order to prevent cancer. This event has been organised by Chris’s daughter, Georgina, in memory of her sister, Catherine.
There will also be a charity auction and the opportunity for every guest to take home a ‘goody bag’ of healthy, nontoxic items. Sorry – no chocolate in this one!! The ambience of the evening will be enhanced by background music from a well-known soul singer.
