The facility will integrate remelting, forging, and associated finishing and testing capabilities.

Carpenter Technology Corporation, with headquarters in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, selected Turner and its design-build partner, Barge Waggoner Sumner & Cannon to build the plant.

“Turner is proud to be a part of this exciting project and welcomes Carpenter Technology to North Alabama,” said Brian Knowles, Turner’s Southeast Industrial Leader.

The high-tech alloys production facility will be designed and constructed in approximately 30 months beginning in April 2012. The first phase of the facility include construction of several buildings totaling 400,000 square feet on a 230-acre site.
