Velvet Suite Marketing Consulting Group ®, a brand leadership firm unveils the 2012 Powerpreneur in Media & Entertainment honorees. Hosted in partnership with The Mayor’s Office of Special Events, this event will take place on Wednesday, March 21st and Thursday, March 22nd from 6pm – 9pm at 201 17th Street in Atlantic Station.
“Powerpreneur is a breakthrough concept recognizing outstanding achievement in our city,” said Mayor Kasim Reed. The goal of Powerpreneur is to create a unique event series designed to build strategic relationships with international influence in key industries to accelerate economic development in Atlanta.
According to the Georgia Department of Economic Development, the economic impact of entertainment industry projects handled by Georgia Film, Music & Digital Entertainment office in 2011 was approximately $2.4 billion. Powerpreneur will honor fourteen leaders who are contributing to the vitality of our economy in the areas of music, film, television, radio, gaming, new media, venture funding and more.
“Atlanta is a rising city influence in media and entertainment. It is crucial for the City of Atlanta to nurture connections to spur economic opportunity in these challenging times” said Melissa Dawn Johnson, Creator of the Powerpreneur series and President of Velvet Suite Marketing.
The event will include: Complimentary hors d'oeuvres, drinks and desserts, celebrity presenters, Welcome Reception, VIP Reception, Intimate and In-depth Conversations with honorees and social media activation through the HP™ media lounge hosted by E. Vincent Martinez, as well as a post-event party on Thursday evening hosted by Eboni Elektra L!VE. 2012
