The Iowa City Area Development Group (ICAD Group), in partnership with COWRK Iowa City and iQuest, is hosting its monthly coworking session this Thursday, February 16, 2012, from 9:30 am. to 4:00 pm. at the Englert Gallery, above the Englert Theatre in downtown Iowa City.
There is no fee and no agenda. Coffee, wireless internet and electrical outlets are provided free of charge. Jellies are casual drop-in cowork sessions that combine creativity and productivity. Attendees can focus on their own projects, see what others are working on and make new connections. Anyone who can work away from an office are welcome at the Jelly for fresh ideas and for a change of pace.
Coworkers will also be able to learn more about BarcampICR during this month’s Jelly.
Like Jellys, BarcampICR targets creatives, educators, entrepreneurs and techies. “We’re happy to help promote this important, regional event,” said Mark Nolte, ICAD Group Business Development Director. “All of these events are working toward building an innovative culture and transforming our region through the power of ideas.”
This year’s BarcampICR will be held on Saturday, March 3 at Vault Coworking and Collaboration Space in Cedar Rapids.
About Jellys
Jellys started in New York City in February 2006 when two roommates, who missed the camaraderie of a traditional office, invited others to share their apartment as a workspace. The aim was to create a creative environment that provided brainstorming, idea sharing, and conversations. Since then, Jellys have been held throughout the US and all over the world.
