Baros Maldives, the award-winning resort in the Indian Ocean archipelago of the Maldives, has just won another important award, being acclaimed as the World’s Leading Water Villa. The award was presented at the World Travel Awards ceremony held in Doha in January 2012, as a result of voting by the world’s travel professionals.
The awards are the most comprehensive, the biggest and the most prestigious programme representing the highest level of recognition in the travel industry. The success of Baros Maldives in winning the title of World’s Leading Water Villa has added to the growing reputation of the resort among discerning visitors to the Maldives.
Baros Maldives was also nominated by travel experts in eight other categories.
There are 30 individual Water Villas at Baros Maldives (baros.com/water-villa) reached by a crescent shaped boardwalk suspended over the translucent waters of a pristine lagoon. Each water villa offers complete privacy in elegant luxury, and features a gossamer curtained kingsize bed, and bathroom with a view. Each has its own wooden deck for sunbathing with steps down into the lagoon.
Baros Maldives (baros.com) is a resort of intimacy and romance created on a lush, uninhabited island isolated in a lagoon and ringed by a vibrant house reef, but just a short speedboat cruise from the Male’ International Airport. Some of its 45 luxuriously-appointed island villas have private swimming pools and all adjoin a golden sand beach. The resort has three gourmet-standard restaurants, two bars, and an exclusive spa set in a garden of serenity.
