December 2011 was a milestone month for Spil Games. Not only did its three global social-gaming platforms attract 170 million unique visitors—a leap of around 40 million compared to December 2010 and almost double the previous year’s growth—but the average time spent per month on site increased too, from 38 minutes to 84.
Spil Games (spilgames.com) has been busy analyzing the behavior of its rapidly growing global user base, as well as industry-wide trends, and is currently putting the finishing touches to its annual ‘State of Gaming’ review. The review—a broad analysis of key behavioral trends in the online gaming community—will be published shortly.
“Deciding to embrace social features so pro-actively is clearly paying off for us—we’re seeing a huge leap in user engagement, unique visits, time spent on site and, crucially, in revenues generated by sales of virtual items,” said Peter Driessen, Spil Games CEO. “Also, by focusing on specific target audiences and delivering the content they love, we’re experiencing growth at a time when many local social networks are seeing a decline in their number of visitors.”
Spil Games’ ‘State of Gaming’ review will be released towards the end of January 2012. For more information prior to its publication, please contact scott.johnston[.]spilgames.com.
