MICROS Systems, Inc., a leading provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality and retail industries, is pleased to announce that Fired Up, Inc., operating as Carino’s Italian, has begun implementation of the MICROS Kitchen Display System (KDS) in it restaurants. The MICROS KDS is helping Carino’s Italian, a long time MICROS customer, achieve its goal of utilizing a single kitchen display technology solution.
Carino’s Italian, known for its focus on fresh ingredients and handmade dishes, has grown from its grassroots beginnings in Texas to more than 135 locations across the country and abroad. To simplify the support and upgrade of its technology, Fired Up, Inc. recently made the strategic decision to drop its multi-vendor approach to kitchen display technology and implement a fully integrated solution provided from MICROS. The restaurant chain has begun the process with the implementation of MICROS’s KDS, a highly visible and graphically rich display that is seamlessly integrated with MICROS RES. MICROS KDS is mounted in the kitchen or food preparation area to display and time food orders, improving order accuracy and speed of service.
“We are excited to expand our partnership with MICROS as we streamline this process with one technology vendor,” said Bridget Hoover, Director of Tax, Treasury and Technology, Carino’s Italian. “The MICROS Kitchen Display System is perfect in providing us with an all-inclusive solution for our kitchen operations.”
“We are thrilled that Fired Up, Inc. has chosen to ease its support and technological processes by selecting MICROS as its technology partner,” stated Jeff Pinc, Vice President Major Account Restaurants, MICROS Systems, Inc. “The roll-out of MICROS’s KDS at Fired Up, Inc. is a solid first step in preparation for the deployment of MICROS Simphony™ which will provide the restaurant chain with a common database and a simpler support model.”
About Carino’s Italian
Carino’s was born of the desire to transform the typical American approach to casual Italian dining. The evolution of Carino’s (carinos.com) began when Spageddies Italian Kitchen was acquired from Brinker International, Inc. by Kona Restaurant Group, Inc. in the mid 1990’s and became Johnny Carino’s Italian Kitchen. Austin, Texas-based Fired Up, Inc. acquired the six existing Johnny Carino’s Italian Kitchens in 1997, infusing all of them with the energy and excitement of the Carino’s we know today. Fired Up continued the culinary passion of Carino’s by reinventing the menu to focus on fresh ingredients and handmade dishes. With over 125 company and franchised locations in the US and 10 abroad (including locations in Bahrain, Egypt, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates), Carino’s has changed the face of the American-Italian dining experience here and around the world.
