NAVTEQ, the leading global provider of maps, traffic and location data enabling navigation, location-based services and mobile advertising around the world, has established a Southern African reseller agreement with Esri South Africa – the sole distributor in the region for Esri products.
As an authorised NAVTEQ reseller, the GIS specialist can now provide its enterprise customers with a complete set of NAVTEQ spatial datasets which, depending on individual requirements, can be supplied in formats optimised for use within Esri software. The geodata will be utilised to enable Esri data solutions and technologies for geomarketing and geocoding.
Providing customer focused solutions for desktop, mobile and internet platforms, Esri South Africa has established a network of successful GIS implementations in a range of sectors including local and regional government, utilities and mining. “Our agreement with NAVTEQ will enable us to satisfy customer demand for accurate, detailed, reliable and flexible solutions,” commented Patrick McKivergan, Esri South Africa Managing Director. “The quality and precision of NAVTEQ map data will have a positive impact on all our products.”
NAVTEQ maps are built to a single data specification allowing developers and enterprises to easily and cost-effectively optimise processes, manage assets and increase productivity. “Around the world organisations are recognising the benefits of spatially enabling enterprise applications and the combined capabilities of NAVTEQ and Esri South Africa are sure to deliver huge benefits to customers in this region,” added Irvine Aitcheson, NAVTEQ sales director, Southern African Region.
