Horizon Forest Products, a top distributor of products for hardwood flooring contractors and custom cabinetmakers in the southeast, is proud to announce the recent appointment of David Williams as President of the 2012 North American Association of Floor Covering Distributors (NAFCD). The organization recently announced its Executive Officers and Board of Directors for 2012 at its 40th Annual Member Business Meeting.
NAFCD’s mission is to promote wholesale distribution in the floor covering industry and to provide members with resources for enhancing performance as industry suppliers. Williams, who is Vice President of Horizon Forest Products, has been an NAFCD member for eight years and has served on its Board of Directors for five. Before his appointment as President, Williams served as Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. In his new role, Williams says he wants to focus on education and networking.
“The distributors in the NAFCD are typically the best companies in our industry. They are the most successful and some of the largest,” says Williams. “Over the years, I have learned a lot from networking with these companies, and the education is excellent as well. During my appointment, I want to make sure we strengthen our educational opportunities, as well as provide more networking for our members. The ability for members to share thoughts and ideas with one another is an invaluable and immeasurable benefit.”
Joining Williams on the 2012 Executive Board are Vice President Joe Reddington (BPI, Irving, TX); Secretary George Roth (Lockwood Flooring, St. Louis, MO); and Treasurer, Harvey Johnson (Mastercraft Flooring, Miami, FL). Bob Wagner (L. Fishman & Son Inc., Baltimore, MD) will serve as NAFCD Immediate Past President and Michelle Miller (NAFCD, Chicago, IL) will continue to serve as NAFCD Executive Vice President.
Williams acknowledges the accomplishments achieved by NAFCD Immediate Past President, Bob Wagner, despite a tough year in the construction industry and says the he anticipates similar challenges during his appointment as the industry continues to remain uncertain and unstable.
“Bob did a great job to help guide the Association through a trying year in 2011. The construction industry is still struggling and so most of our members are still working hard just to get through this downturn,” says Williams. “I think there are opportunities for all of us coming down the road, and NAFCD and its members will be the ones that will benefit the most as things improve.”
