Gartner, Inc. has named Oracle as a Leader in its latest “Magic Quadrant for Master Data Management of Product Data Solutions.” (1)
Gartner’s Magic Quadrant reports position vendors within a particular quadrant based on their completeness of vision and ability to execute.
According to Gartner,“Leaders have strong results and delivery capabilities and will continue to have them. They typically have a large and satisfied customer base (relative to the size of the market) and enjoy high visibility in the market. The size and financial strength of Leaders enable them to remain viable in a challenging economy.”
Gartner defines Master Data Management (MDM) of Product Data Solutions as “applications designed to create a single version of a product for an enterprise, across all operational and analytic uses, independent of any other repository of product data. MDM solutions store master data (or metadata, or both) related to products and other attributes of data pertaining to products. MDM systems can operate as a system of record (where product and additional data is initially created and subscribed to by remote-consuming systems via messaging infrastructure), as a system of reference (where systems subscribe to remote master data using the MDM solution as a look-up to locate and access the data) or as a mixed record or reference deployment.”
The Oracle Master Data Management Suite of products, includes Oracle Product Hub, Oracle Customer Hub, Oracle Supplier Hub, Oracle Hyperion DRM, Oracle Site Hub and Oracle Enterprise Data Quality. It is the most complete, best-in-class, MDM offering on the market, and helps customers consolidate and maintain complete, accurate, and authoritative master data across the entire enterprise.
Oracle Product Hub enables customers to consolidate all product information from heterogeneous systems, creating a single view of product information that can be leveraged and shared across all functional departments in the enterprise as well as externally with trading partners. Together with Oracle Enterprise Data Quality for Product Data, it provides best-in-class product data quality using semantic-based technology for a variety of product, item, asset, SKU, and other forms of product data across a range of industries.
• “Accurate product master data management is a foundation for all successful applications initiatives, and managing the enterprise product record using best in class MDM capabilities is the best way to achieve this," said Jon Chorley, vice president, Supply Chain Management Product Strategy, Oracle. “We believe Oracle’s position in the Leaders Quadrant in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Master Data Management of Product Data Solutions highlights the strength of Oracle’s MDM offerings and our ability to help customers achieve this key business goal.”
