Citizens Interested in Arts (CIA) announces Grantees on Parade, the 14th Annual Awards Presentation event for Citizens Interested in Arts, a renowned local charity committed to Keeping Arts Alive in South Florida. The event will be held on January 15, 2012 at 1:30 pm at the Aventura Arts and Cultural Center in Aventura, FL
“This is the first time ever that so many of South Florida’s arts community have gathered on one stage to perform for CIA and the community,” says Gloria Muroff, CIA Founder and event chairperson. “We are excited that we could bring them together to celebrate their victories in such a creative and inspiring manner. We anticipate this will become an annual event.”
Emcee is concert, cabaret, nightclub and Broadway singer David McBride, whose modern interpretations of Great American Songbook classics from Sinatra, Bennett, Buble' and more garner great reviews from audiences everywhere. McBride headlines a roster of performances by grantee winners Gables Stage, Orchestra Miami, Maximum Dance, The Unconservatory, Young Artists of Florida Grand Opera, Momentum Dance, South Florida Bluegrass Association, Alliance for Musical Arts, Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida and others, all of whom are leading South Florida dance, drama and vocal companies.
Guests include television, recording and cabaret artist Judy Scott, a CIA member, and her protege Biana Pinchuk, an eight-year-old opera/Broadway vocalist. The highlight will be the awarding of grants to 31 South Florida artistic organizations by CIA Grants Committee members Dr. Dorothy Koreman, CIA Founder Gloria Muroff, Florence Werner and President Emeritus Lenore Toby-Simmons. A champagne/ chocolate reception follows.
