Accessory Power will extend its bold campaign through March 21, 2012 to continue to support and raise awareness of Pandas International and help the nonprofit organization in their efforts of raising $100,000 to plant new bamboo at the Wolong Giant Panda Reserve Center.
Pandas International is a registered nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of the Giant Panda and its habitat. With only approximately 1,600 wild pandas in existence around the world, the organization concentrates on educating the public, and raising money for research and the preservation of the Giant Panda and its habitats.
After the 2008 earthquake in the Sichuan Province of China, the Wolong Giant Panda Reserve Center and the Chengdu Panda Breeding and Research Center were severely affected and Pandas International dedicated itself to raising money to provide medicine, food and electrical equipment to the reserves and neighboring communities. In addition, donations, like the one being made by Accessory Power, will be used to fund Pandas International's Bamboo Project, a drive to replant bamboo destroyed by the earthquake.
The nonprofit organization also provides assistance to the China Conservation and Research Centers for the Giant Panda. The approximate 40 panda reserves across China are dedicated to protecting pandas and their natural habitat by patrolling reserves to prevent poaching and logging, conducting research on pandas and their behavior and mating habits, providing corridors for panda migrations, and many other services.
Accessory Power will donate 5% of net profits from sales of the Panda Pal Speaker System from Aug 1, 2011 through March 31, 2012 to Pandas International's Bamboo Project. The Panda Pal is a panda-shaped mini speaker system that connects to any audio player with a 3.5mm cable.
In addition, included in the Instruction Manual of each Panda Pal Speaker is information about Pandas International to encourage Panda Pal owners to visit the Pandas International website for more ways to support the organization and its goal of protecting and preserving the Giant Panda and its habitat.
“We’ve had a great response to our campaign and want to continue and raise as much money as possible for Pandas International,” says Alexander Rocha, Senior Business Development Manager at Accessory Power.
