This ends a twenty-two year career chapter for Peter Edelmann. He joined Voith in 1989 to take up a position in the Division Planning and Special Tasks for the Management Board. In October 2000, Peter Edelmann was appointed as a Member of the Management Board of Voith Turbo GmbH & Co. KG where he was responsible for the Market Division "Road." In June 2003, Edelmann was called to the Corporate Management Board of the then Voith AG and also appointed as Chairman of the Management Board of Voith Turbo.

Peter Edelmann was highly instrumental in the consistent expansion of the company's product portfolio, as well as the further internationalization of Voith Turbo. Under his management, sales tripled within 8 years to EUR 1.5 billion. Among his many achievements are the implementation of numerous innovations and growth ideas, the evolvement of the Market Division Rail into a systems supplier, the establishment of a leading market position in China, as well as several successful company acquisitions.

The Shareholders' Committee, the Supervisory Board and the Voith Corporate Management Board regret Mr. Edelmann's decision to leave, thank him for many years of dedicated service to Voith and wish him all the best for his further professional and personal life. The company will decide on his succession as quickly as possible. In the meantime, the Group Division Voith Turbo will be managed by Voith President and CEO Dr. Hubert Lienhard.

Voith (voith.com) sets standards in the markets energy, oil & gas, paper, raw materials and transportation & automotive. Founded in 1867, Voith employs almost 40,000 people, generates €5.2 billion in sales, operates in about 50 countries around the world and is today one of the biggest family-owned companies in Europe.
