The millions of visitors to blogs now have a new option for leaving their comments. They can record messages in their own voices using a computer microphone, thanks to the Evoca Browser Mic. Available as a Widget for TypePad, the Evoca Browser Mic makes it possible for blog readers to leave voice comments on their favorite blogs.
Evoca Browser Mic is an embeddable Flash Widget that is available at the TypePad Widget Gallery under audio. Each time a voice comment is made, Evoca notifies the blog’s owner/author via e-mail, who can choose to post the comment on-line. Evoca hosts the creation and posting of the audio. The Evoca Browser Mic can also be used with corporate and media Websites, and social networking sites including MySpace.
“The Evoca Browser Mic adds an exciting new dimension to blogging,” said Murem Sharpe, co-founder and CEO of Evoca. “Talking is easy to do and comes naturally. It is the single most powerful way we express ourselves.”
“TypePad users are on the leading edge of blogging, and are always looking to expand their ability to interact with their readers,” said Michael Sippey, General Manager of TypePad at Six Apart. “We’re excited to be working with Evoca, because they make it easy for blog readers to leave a voice comment without requiring any special equipment.”
According to the Pew Internet and American Life Project, which reports on the impact of the Internet, 39 percent of Internet users, or 57 million Americans, read blogs.
