Looking for a night of pure holiday enjoyment and music that is as unique as it is wonderful? The Taubl Family 10th annual Christmas at Mechanics Hall is just the event for you. Young and old will enjoy this evening of beautiful voices, virtuosic string playing, and stories about life in this unusual family. And for only $15 per ticket, you can afford to bring the whole family!
The Taubl Family exploded onto the American music scene with their 2008 appearances on America's Got Talent. Their rendition of Rihanna's hit, Umbrella, was hailed by celebrity judges and critics alike as beautiful and inspiring. Seven siblings, with musical training from Juilliard, Yale, and New England Conservatory, along with mom and dad make up the nine member band. And their signature sound is a combination of vocal harmonies, strings, harp and piano. Their annual holiday program at Mechanics Hall has become a family tradition for many New Englanders, with audience members from as far away as Maine and New Hampshire.
And this year's event is extra special in many ways. Not only is this the final year that the Taubls will be performing together in Worcester, but also, in recognition of President Obama's decision to bring the troops home, the Taubl Family will be honoring our men and women in uniform with a special tribute designed to give the audience a chance to say thank you.
All net proceeds from the event go toward the continuing efforts of the Taubl Family to help musicians in the earthquake ravaged country of Haiti. The family traveled to Haiti in February of 2011 performing for thousands of people and offering music lessons to orphans across the city of Port au Prince. They plan to return in 2012 to follow up with the development of a music school for orphans there. A special display showing the Taubls' work in Haiti will be set up in the lobby area for guests to enjoy.
Since their appearances on America's Got Talent in 2008, the Taubls have traveled across the country performing concerts for various charitable organizations.
