Wolters Kluwer Health announced today that Pharmacy OneSource, software-as-a-service provider VeriForm, a checklist management system, is hosting a complimentary webinar with Darryl Rich, Surveyor for The Joint Commission, in "TJC Hospital Pharmacy Update 2012."
Rich will present a webinar that will give the participant an understanding of The Joint Commission’s 2012 requirements for its medication management standards and medication-related National Patient Safety Goal requirements, discussing compliance issues found on past surveys, new requirements and current interpretations along with examples of best practices for meeting the requirements.

About the Presenter
Darryl Rich is a surveyor for The Joint Commission in the hospital, home care, and ambulatory accreditation programs. In addition, he works for the Standards Interpretation Group serving as an internal resource for The Joint Commission related to pharmacy and medication management. He previously served as Associate Director for Surveyor Management and Development at The Joint Commission for 11 years. Dr. Rich has been with The Joint Commission since January 1993.
Prior to coming to The Joint Commission, Dr. Rich was National Director of Pharmacy Services for Critical Care America, Inc., a national home infusion company. Previously, he served as Director of Pharmacy Services at Boston. Dr. Rich is active member and Fellow in the American Society of Health System Pharmacists and a past President of the New England Council of Health-System Pharmacists. He has received numerous awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009 from the Institute for Safe Medication Practices for his “ongoing contributions to patient safety and having had a major impact on safe medication practices."
