Greenwich, CT, United States, 2006/10/29 - Libertarian Congressional candidate Phil Maymin announced today his one-man march on Washington, D.C.

"It does not take a million men to make a difference," said Maymin, 31, who is running for the U.S. House of Representatives from Connecticut’s 4th Congressional district in a tight race against incumbent Republican Christopher Shays, 61, and Democrat Diane Farrell, 51. "It all starts with one determined man."
During these last few days before the November 7 general election, Maymin will appear on Main street in each town and city in his district. “Seventeen towns in eight and a half days,” Maymin called it.
He will discuss any issues and answer any question from any citizen who will happen to walk by. In the seven debates he had against Shays and Farrell this month, Maymin established a reputation as the only candidate who actually answers the questions put to him. On the open public forum on his website, people can anonymously post any questions or comments and Maymin responds personally. Topics on the forum have included political issues such as the environment, health care, taxes, Iraq, torture, unions, education, and terrorism. Topics have also included comments and compliments from those attending the debates. Informally Maymin is believed to have won every debate against Shays and Farrell.
Maymin (mayminforcongress.com) is also scheduled to appear at a variety of town meetings next week spread out over the district. On Wednesday, he will appear at Fairfield Library from 7:30 to 8:30pm. On Thursday, he will appear at Westport Library from 7:30 to 8:30pm. On Monday, November 6 he will appear at Stamford Library from 7:00 to 8:00pm.
A complete schedule is available on Maymin’s campaign website.
