A veteran of both Oracle and Sun services businesses, as well as an entrepreneur who founded and sold high-end consulting businesses, Douglas will lead CIBER’s efforts in business development throughout North America. His responsibilities include oversight of strategic accounts, sales operations, sales support, alliances and CIBER’s vertical industry approach to the North American marketplace.
“Bruce brings proven experience and expertise in building and executing the sales operations to support a world-class sales team, pursue and win major deals, and expand within strategic accounts,” Genovese said. “Additionally, and most importantly, he has a collaborative, team-oriented personal style and a real focus on the core of our business: our clients.”
Previously, Douglas was vice president of advanced customer support at Oracle, a company he joined in early 2010 as a result of the Sun acquisition. Prior to the acquisition, Douglas was vice president, global professional services at Sun Microsystems, Inc., where his team provided solutions based on Sun’s storage, systems, and software product lines to customers around the world. At Sun, Douglas managed a $1 billion global business unit that operated in 160 countries with more than 1,700 employees and 5,000 partner resources.
Prior to joining Sun, Douglas was the co-founder, president and CEO of Neogent, where he brought together a seasoned team of experts and drove Neogent's successful growth. Neogent was sold to Sun in October 2006. Before founding Neogent, Douglas spent many years bringing together unique and successful teams of people in combination with value-based emerging technologies, ultimately generating extremely profitable companies, including The Fourth Tier, which was an emerging customer relationship company that was later sold to Keane, Inc. in 1997.
“I’m joining CIBER at a critical point in the company’s maturity – a point at which there are significant prospects for growth – to make a difference in an exciting organization,” Douglas said. “CIBER has a great foundation to build on. I will hit the ground running with an emphasis on enabling the sales team, differentiating CIBER from competitors and rolling out complete solutions to drive new business that brings sales and revenue.”
