St. Paul, MN, United States, 2005/07/18 - McNally Smith College of Music, the pioneering school of American popular music, awarded the first annual Diana Ross Performance Scholarship to an incoming student and unveiled a unique apprenticeship with the American music icon.
The first recipient of the Diana Ross Performance Scholarship is Daniel Musselman of Jefferson City, Missouri. Established in November 2004, the full tuition scholarship is awarded annually to one exceptional incoming student. Musselman will start at McNally Smith in the fall 2005 semester, and will major in keyboard performance.
In conjunction with the new scholarship, McNally Smith has been given the privilege to offer an exclusive apprenticeship opportunity from Miss Ross herself. Vocal major Kaytee Shreve, a native of Tucson, Arizona and St. Paul, Minnesota has been chosen for an apprenticeship with the Diana Ross summer European tour. Shreve was selected by Miss Ross on the basis of her essay application.
While on tour, Shreve will keep a blog, describing her experiences on tour with the pop icon. Visit mcnallysmith.edu/kaytee.html to follow along with Kaytee’s incredible adventure.
