The Local Indy Network Xchange (LINX) will host an open event featuring Larry White, Business Advisor with the Central Indiana Small Business Development Center (ISBDC). The networking event will be held Thursday, September 29, from 7:00 am until 8:30 am at the Smith Valley Baptist Church on Smith Valley Road in Greenwood, Indiana.
The event is open to the public and is geared toward small business owners who are interested in learning more about national SBDC program and the free counseling services that are offered right here in Indiana.
"Many small business owners are struggling in this economy. There is a lot of business guidance and counseling available through the Small Business Development Center that many people are not aware of," said Daniel Curry of Indy's Computer Geek. "This is a great opportunity for all of us to learn more about the SBDC and how they can help us develop stronger businesses."
The ISBDC (isbdc.org) provides one-on-one, confidential, business consulting to help businesses develop and implement strategic plans.Their mission is to have a positive and measurable impact on the formation, growth, and sustainability of small businesses in Indiana, and to develop a strong entrepreneurial community.
Among the services offered by ISBDC are:
• tools and resources to help Indiana entrepreneurs start and sustain a business;
• strategic planning including software, workbooks and assistance;
• market research such as industry research, prospect list, competitor list and more;
• financial reports and access to a world-class financial diagnostic tool;
• and other specialty programs created specifically for the central Indiana region.
LINX (networkatlinx.com) is a business networking group comprised of local business owners and corporate leaders possessing relationships and experience in the central Indiana marketplace. They meet weekly to educate and share information as well as exchange qualified referrals that result in an average of $5,000, 000.00 worth of business per year. Meetings are open to guests, visitors or prospective members to better understand the “spirit” and productivity level of the group.
Pre-registration for the LINX/ISBDC event is not necessary. The event is free and open to the public.
