Embraer is holding its 11th annual Maintenance Cost Workshop (MCW), in São José dos Campos, Brazil, beginning today, Wednesday, September 21, and running through Friday, September 23. The focus, this year, is on maintenance cost management for operators of the E-Jets and ERJ 145 families.
“We are always pleased to welcome so many of our worldwide customer operators at this key annual event,” said Luiz Hamilton Lima, Vice President, Services & Support – Embraer Commercial Aviation. “The MCW is an open forum for discussing best maintenance practices, and it results in important improvements for operating Embraer’s commercial jets, even more competitively.”
Besides dealing with cost reductions, the core objective of this event is to foment an exchange of experiences and best practices among operators, suppliers, service centers and Embraer. Over the years, Embraer’s customers have received significant input on how to manage their maintenance costs.
The event officially opens with dedicated sessions for the ERJ 145 and E-Jets families. Workshops, on Thursday, September 22, will focus on increasing fleet availability and reducing maintenance costs. The 11th MCW will close on Friday, September 23, with a tour of Embraer’s plant in São José dos Campos.
Throughout the course of the program, which has at least 80 people from 23 operators registered to attend, emphasis will be given to new troubleshooting tools for enhancing fleet availability; customer experience with the Lean philosophy; Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO); and heavy check best practices at Embraer (embraer.com) and suppliers.
