GuestLogix, Inc. (GXI.T) (“GuestLogix” or the “Company”), the leading global provider of onboard store technology and merchandising solutions to airlines and the passenger travel industry, has expanded its portfolio of ready-made content and destination-based offerings through new agreements with several of the largest global providers of entertainment and attractions including VisitBritain and Merlin Entertainments. The addition of new ready-made content, which is fully integrated with the OnTouch® platform, provides airlines with new revenue opportunities and comes at a time when they are seeking to differentiate their products and services onboard.
“The addition of these attractions, along with the convenience of rapid deployment, shows our commitment to helping airlines grow their onboard sales through our OnTouch® merchandising platform,” said Tom Douramakos, CEO of GuestLogix. “We believe selling tickets for destination-based attractions can be immensely profitable for airlines, with margins for non-traditional ancillary products being potentially as much as 10 times the two percent to four percent generated from ticket sales. By leveraging our merchandising platform, our airline customers can ultimately generate new and sustainable revenue streams, while giving their passengers the opportunity to enhance their journey and travel experience.”
Access to Millions of Passengers, Providing Hundreds of Choices
By offering their range of destination-based services and attractions through the OnTouch® platform, VisitBritain and Merlin Entertainments can reach a significantly larger traveler base and benefit from increased brand exposure globally. GuestLogix estimates that 900 million passengers annually could have access to these new offerings on domestic and international flights.
Through the addition of ready-made content on the OnTouch® merchandising platform, airlines can immediately offer their passengers greater choice for supplementing vacations and new ways to explore exciting tours and attractions from the comfort of their seat. Travelers will also have the chance to explore cities that are not traditionally considered major tourist destinations.
Merlin Entertainments is the market leader in the UK and Europe for entertainments and attractions, second only to Disney worldwide. Comprising 75 attractions in 17 countries across four continents, and serving over 40 million visitors, Merlin’s portfolio of brands including Madame Tussauds, The EDF Energy London Eye, The Sea Life London Aquarium and The London Dungeon are now available through OnTouch® merchandising platform.
VisitBritain is Britain's national tourism agency, responsible for marketing Britain worldwide and developing Britain’s visitor economy. VisitBritain’s 19 online shops (VisitBritainShop - visitbritainshop.com) directly receive more than 1.9 million visits per year across the world from tourists wanting a diverse range of exclusive and valuable British tourism products, including theatre and attraction tickets, sightseeing tours and passes, travel passes and London transport tickets.
“GuestLogix is proud to partner with such trusted and experienced companies in the travel industry that offer high-end, popular and unique attractions and tours,” added Mr. Douramakos. “Sales of these destination-based tours and attractions through the OnTouch® merchandising platform opens up many opportunities for our airline customers and channel partners worldwide, and paves the way for our further revenue growth.”
