Exton, PA, United States, 2011/09/14 - Scala, the leading provider of end-to-end software solutions for digital signage, visual communications and advertising management, today announced Tom Nix as new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Mr. Nix will succeed Gerard Bucas, who is retiring after nine years leading the company, effective November 1, 2011. Mr. Bucas will remain on the Scala Board of Directors.
In his new role, Mr. Nix will continue to focus on building customer satisfaction and expanding Scala’s role in the evolving global market for digital signage and digital communications solutions. “For 25 years, companies have seen the flexibility and benefits of communicating using digital signage in market segments from retail and quick service restaurants to hospitals, retail banking and corporate communications. Scala is leading the shift to digital signage’s next stage where companies exploit their ability to connect to virtually any data source using almost any device. These devices can range from mobile applications, like tablets and smart phones, to CxO boards that provide real-time management information by consolidating and displaying a custom broadcast channel of key performance metrics from customer relationship management and enterprise resource planning packages such as Salesforce.com and Oracle,” said Mr. Nix.
Mr. Nix was previously Vice President, Americas and Oceania, where he was responsible for Scala’s sales, services and support operations in those regions. Before joining Scala, he was Vice President and General Manager at Dynamax Technologies and a consultant for Magenta Research, Keo Connect and Talk2.Us. Mr. Nix has also had executive positions at Main Street Direct and Marins USA.
