As many states cut budgets, most of the country’s social services providers are losing millions of dollars because they are not submitting accurate claims for all the services they provide to those with disabilities. And as the federal government plans to slash Medicaid funding, many providers have been erroneously over-billing or incorrectly coding services for years which has, in part, led to the calls for these funding cuts.
Vertex Systems announces the introduction of Intuition Service Billing, a state-of-the-art solution for social services agencies that need to maximize billing to Medicaid and other payers in order to survive their state’s drastic budget cuts. This new software allows a human services organization to bill electronically using an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) offering increased speed and accuracy that is far superior to paper claims and website billing. The application was designed to help ensure these providers can bill for the maximum services that they provide to their clients and reduce their costs to process their claims.
Intuition Service Billing allows providers to bill internally, helping them avoid costly third party billing agents, and at the same time it makes it easier for organizations to submit accurate claims, track claims, and perform claim adjustments. Sanford Chandler, CEO of Vertex Systems, Inc. stated,“Our solution automates 75% of the billing process your business office performs each month. This cuts in half the amount of hours spent with the billing reimbursement process.”
In addition to time savings, Intuition Service Billing is approved or certified by the individual states across the country to use the correct HIPAA submission formats so agencies can automatically determine client Medicaid eligibility, prepare and submit Medicaid reimbursement claims (837i and 837p), and process claims remittance advice (835).
“Our billing application automatically applies the correct rates, codes and rules when generating claims for your organization. And Intuition Service Billing creates a series of powerful financial reports to give you the data your staff needs to monitor claim submissions, perform financial analysis, monitor remittance advice, and perform claims analysis and re-authorizations. This billing system can help social services agencies easily identify denied claims and create an audit trail that can be used to defend revenue generated from the billed claims,” added Chandler.
Intuition Service Billing allows organizations to submit claims electronically which results in faster processing and payment turnaround time, which improves cash flow. By eliminating paper claims, social services agencies save money on claim forms, office supplies, printing, postage, the time it takes to complete a claim, document management, and document storage. “Our software performs data entry edits and informs you when data is missing before you submit a claim. After you submit a claim, the claim goes from your system into the state’s Medicaid portal automatically, which requires less data entry and eliminates the steps required to process paper or the manual website entry of claims. Electronic claims submissions always lowers the risk of losing claims and the problems with human error,” said Sanford Chandler.
