Korenix is pleased to release a new feature, the Modbus TCP/IP in its JetNet 4508 V2 series industrial managed copper and fiber switches, aiming to provide users with enriched network connectivity and easy maintenance for factory automation.
The ModBus TCP/IP registers that are supported in the new v1.1 firmware of JetNet 4508 V2 series will enable administrators to connect to data acquisition (SCADA) system and read the switchs’ operating information using their own Modbus TCP/IP master program for monitoring and maintaining switch’s status. With the supported Modbus TCP/IP, the JetNet 4508 V2 series become an element of factory automation such as the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and allow users to monitor/maintain factory equipments on the HMI (Human Machine Interface) system, including production information and communication status. Therefore, user does not need to integrate multiple management platforms to monitor factory equipments: with just a single JetNet 4508 V2 platform users can easily achieve enhanced monitoring and maintenance of the entire factory.
As a firm guarantee of their reliable operation, the JetNet 4508 V2 series have been tested with Beijer Electronics’ ADP6 HMI software as well as by Modbus Poll, a free testing tool offered by Modbus Organization, showing excellent results when providing switch’s operating info through Modbus TCP.
Modbus TCP/IP will be launched in more of Korenix Industrial switches soon, including JetNet 4510, JetNet 5010G and JetNet 5012G series Gigabit and Fast Ethernet managed switches, bringing more flexibility and enhancing system maintenance for factory automation projects.
The JetNet 4508 V2 series are designed with 6 Fast Ethernet copper plus 2 Fast Ethernet Copper (JetNet 4508 V2) or Fiber (JetNet 4508f V2) uplink ports. The switches have an integrated watchdog timer, a function that provides stability and reliability of the switch operation in harsh environments, exposed to intense electromagnetic interference, temperature changes etc… Additionally, to ensure reliable operation in harsh environments, the switches, which have just passed approval for the EN 50121-4 Railway trackside standard, are constructed in rugged IP31 enclosures and have a wide operating temperature range: -25~70°C (JetNet 4508 V2), -10~70°C (JetNet 4508f V2) and -40~75°C (JetNet 4508-w/4508f-w V2).
System constructors can choose to use any of the JetNet 4508V2 models, depending on the specific requirements of data uplink transmission and temperature ranges of their factory automation application.
To guarantee the stable and high quality data transmission, the JetNet 4508 V2 series’ firmware provides Tag-based VLAN, IGMP Snooping, QoS, Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) and many other advanced features for easy management and security. Moreover, for network reliability, they provide MSTP/RSTP legacy redundancy protocols and MSR Korenix ring redundancy technology for allowing non-stop data transmission while connected to various Korenix or 3rd party switches.
