One of the oldest and most respected graphic design companies has joined with a leading International Marketing Consultancy to launch the Multi- Award winning Body of Work™ Photographic Collection into the Global Markets.
This partnership brings together the creative talents of Australia’s ArmstrongQ, (creators of the unique Body of Work™ ) with the global marketing expertise of the UK based Copernicus International Consulting in a way that seamlessly blends creativity and commercial reality to launch a unique World-Class Collection.
Ian Sellman, Operations Director for Copernicus, said “In my extensive experience in this field I have never seen a Collection to match the imagination, artistry and technical presentation of Body of Work™. It is rare that any international consultancy firm has the opportunity to work with such a well-developed, proven concept and to support its development, and we are honoured that ArmstrongQ have chosen Copernicus.”
Body of Work™ comprises a collection of photos of three world-class photographers;
• Bob Armstrong is arguably Australia’s most successful corporate location photographer, famous for the fact that over 40 years he can boast a 100% success rate on all assignments. He has travelled to all parts of the world for some world famous corporations. His greatest attribute is his ability to create photographic masterpieces out of nothing. So when, after much coaxing, he turned his attention to creative editorial photography, he excelled himself and immediately won the coveted Agfa award for creative imagery. His inspired creations feature in every collection in the Body of Work series and readers have learnt to expect the unexpected. Two of his creations are currently on sale for GBP 500,000. Bob and ArmstrongQ have won so many awards for design, photography and excellence in print that they have literally run out of walls to hang on which to hang them.
• Peter Lik sits at the summit of landscape photography. He is world-renowned, highly awarded, with a huge international following. Now based in Las Vegas, Lik’s career continues to boom. He has sold in excess of $200 million of fine art photography, has 13 galleries of his own and counts presidents and celebrities among his many collectors. Early 2011 saw two more landmarks for Lik when he sold his photograph “One,” taken on the banks of the Androscoggin River in New Hampshire, for US$1 million, and had his classic image “Ghost” included in an exhibition of Nature’s Best Photography in the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington D.C. Some of Peter’s creations appear in two of the first three launch collections.
• Mike Armstrong’s photography reflects his varied life experience. Trained as an actor, he brings imagination, a talent for keen observation and creative flair to his work. Some of Mike’s original creations appear in the third collection entitled “Visions of 3”. Mike combines his passion for creative photography with a wealth of experience in cinematography and a deep understanding of people gained from a number of years working in the world of corporate photography. In this dimension of his work, Mike has captured great diversity – tribes people of New Guinea and mine workers in remote areas of the Northern Territory as well as the boardrooms of capital cities. Honing his skills in video editing and production, Mike is a master of modern technology and is at the cutting edge of the equipment and techniques available to a new generation of artisans. While he is comfortable working in the traditional medium, he is equally at ease refining the aesthetics of his compositions at the screen.
Body of Work™ is a concept created without compromise. It combines perfection in photographic art with such a breath-taking print quality that it has won awards throughout the world even before its commercial international release.
Sellman believes “Body of Work™ can be compared to Fine Art and indeed will be studied by experts for years to come.”
Body of Work™ will be launched with three collections. These come with a premium price tag and therefore, like all premium creations, are destined to be owned by few and envied by many.
From the outset the objective of the Body of Work™ was to create a fine art photographic collection without compromise - the goal was to create a book that will be the best-of-its kind in the world.
To achieve this ambitious goal, seven development issues were created over a period of 5 years. Each successive development issue was benchmarked in some of the most prestigious awards around the world in order to solicit feedback from peers.
The by-product of this exercise was that in 5 years it accumulated 65 design, photographic and print awards and set a standard of its own that provoked one highly-respected print expert to comment- “Body of Work has become the benchmark of the print industry.”
Having satisfied themselves that the product had achieved its goal, the next logical task was to launch it onto the market. They took the unusual step of having the product examined by a highly respected psychologist who believed that it would be of greatest appeal in the northern hemisphere, particularly in Europe and USA.
As a result, ArmstrongQ, with the assistance of Austrade, invited marketing consultancies from around the world to submit to join them in maximising the value of this unique collection on the world stage. It gained universal acceptance and many of these consultancies wanted to be part of this exciting adventure.
All of the selected consultancies were impressive however ultimately UK based consultancy, Copernicus International Consulting was chosen because of their understanding of the product, its potential and their demonstrated experience in the successful launching premium products globally.
